Recently craft beers have increasingly grown in popularity. We’ve seen a variety of craft beer pubs pop up all over the place, as well as traditional pubs introducing it behind the bar as an alternative to mass produced beer. And from today, you can now enjoy the market leading craft beer Punk IPA from BrewDog whilst in the air with us.

With craft beer becoming increasingly popular, you can be spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding what to have and which new ones to try. There’s a huge variety to choose from, from hoppy IPA’s, pale ales and malty stouts to sweet or even fruity brews. But once you find a firm favourite it’s hard to shy away from it.

Here at Monarch we’re big fans of BrewDog’s Punk IPA, which is why we’re so excited to introduce it on board. It’s BrewDog’s flagship beer, a well hopped India Pale Ale with strong tropical fruit flavours bursting with Grapefruit, Pineapple and Lychee. The hops are well balanced with the biscuit malt to create a fresh, full-flavoured beer with a slight bitter finish. If you’re already a fan, you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about, but if you’re yet to try it – then you’re in for a real treat.

Brew Dog Punk IPA 1

BrewDog’s story is visionary, revolutionary and defined by a mission to make other people as passionate about great craft beer as they are. Created by Martin and James just over nine years ago, they wanted a change from the boring, industrially brewed lagers that saturated the UK beer market. So they decided to make their own beer. Starting off with very small batches, they began selling the beer at local markets. Now BrewDog is the market leader in the UK craft beer market and has gone from brewing just 1,050 hectolitres (hl) in 2007 to 134,000 hl in 2015 (371,150hl in 9 years). That is one incredible beer journey!

Punk IPA is available on board from 1st July and is the perfect way to kick start or end your holiday. Enjoy!
