With the nights beginning to draw in and the festive period on the horizon, November is a fantastic time of year to take a break before the Christmas rush.

While the UK deals with wind and rain, there are plenty of destinations offering sun, fun and culture. Whether you want to experience the history of Tel Aviv or Lisbon, or put your feet up on the golden sands of Malaga and Almeria, there are plenty of magnificent destinations to choose from.

Take a step back in time in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem

As one of Israel’s leading tourist destinations, Tel Aviv continues to wow holiday makers with its stunning architecture, glorious weather and golden beaches. What’s more, Jerusalem is less than two hours away and presents plenty of fascinating sites to visit.

One of the top upcoming events in Tel Aviv is Tune In Tel Aviv. As one of the most important music industry events in the Middle East, the festival boasts a selection of concerts, conferences and talks at some of the best venues across the city. It runs from November 11th-15th and features a host of local stars, including Dudu Tassa and the Kuwaits, Eliad Nahum and Bassam Beroumi.

As well as this, there are a host of incredible exhibitions in Jerusalem, including The Camera Man, which will be held at the Tower of David Museum until the 10th December. This magnificent display takes a look at the city’s cultural heritage, with fantastic images from photographers of all different backgrounds.

Explore the magical Red Sea in Eilat

If you’re looking for a slice of paradise this autumn, Eilat in Israel could be your dream destination. With the beach and the Red Sea nearby, it’s the perfect spot for divers and beachgoers.

There are some amazing events lined up next month, too. The Grounded Vacation Festival takes place on the 10th-13th November and promises live music from some of Israel’s top DJs, along with video-art visuals and some astonishing lighting effects.

The City of Eilat Museum is another fantastic option for travellers and provides a detailed insight into the history of the city, giving visitors a better understanding of how it has developed into one of the country’s leading tourist destinations.

Revel in the relaxing atmosphere of Costa Almeria

Based on the south-east coast of Spain, Costa Almeria is full of phenomenal holiday resorts that provide sun, fun and tranquility, ensuring a fantastic break away from the hustle and bustle of the UK.

November is a fantastic time to visit, as the crowds are much smaller than in the summer season, meaning travellers can look forward to quieter crowds at the De Los Genoveses and De lo Muertos beaches, along with a wonderfully laid-back atmosphere.

Nijar National Park is one of the must-see delights in the region and is truly unforgettable for nature lovers in autumn. Enjoy live music and history in Lisbon

With a classic mix of modern art and history, Lisbon is an excellent destination for visitors looking for the perfect blend of city break and beach holiday. Check out Madama Butterfly as it is scheduled at the Campo Pequeno on November 25th. This Italian opera was originally written in 1903 and continues to wow audiences across the world with its incredible pacing and outstanding music.

Art, sun and architecture awaits in Malaga

Even though Malaga is known for its stunning beaches and glorious sunshine, it has much more to offer holidaymakers.

There are some sensational art exhibitions in the region, including Picasso: Turning Points. The display is held at the Casa Natal de Picasso and covers the life and career of the legendary artist, ranging from his humble beginnings in Malaga to his days as a celebrated icon.
