Airline and holiday company Monarch last week took 14 travel agents on a tour of its Engineering facility at Birmingham Airport.

The agents, all from various independent travel agencies around the Midlands, included some ‘new to travel’ apprentices, homeworkers and business owners. The group was led by Head of Trade Sales Simon Garrido, joined by Monarch’s National Account Managers Kirsty Bachelor and Karen Woods, as well as the teams new Business Development Executive’s Emma Fuller, James Carvetta and Hayley Morris.

The agents were treated to a full guided tour of Monarch Aircraft Engineering’s state-of-the-art facility. The hangar provides high-quality engineering support for Monarch’s fleet as well as a number of other airlines.

During the visit the group were taken on board a Monarch aircraft to see the maintenance in operation.

Lunch was provided before Kirsty and Karen presented the agents with information on Monarch’s holiday product including the new beach & city destinations available from Birmingham this summer.

Following the trip Kirsty said: “The tour of our Birmingham hangar was very well received by the agents and we have had some excellent feedback on our Monarch Agents facebook page. Monarch now serves 30 destinations from Birmingham Airport this summer, more than any other airline and this event was a great opportunity to showcase our offering in a unique setting.”
