You may remember back in June Monarch launched a search to find the UK’s best junior travel writer. After dozens of entries, we managed to pick a winner; Michael, who is 8 from Stretford won us over with his entry and secured that family holiday to Tenerife. Here’s how he got on:
Hi there, it’s Michael here, just reporting in after my family and I had the time of our lives at the Be Live Experience Playa la Arena in the resort of Puerto Santiago, Tenerife.
I still can’t believe how lucky I was to win Monarch’s Mini Travel Writer competition…
From the moment we boarded the plane at Manchester Airport, it was non-stop excitement all the way!! The cabin crew were really friendly and the food on the plane was so tasty. Luckily for me, I was allowed in the cockpit and the captain explained all the controls. I think I would maybe like to be a pilot when I grow up.
When we arrived at the Hotel it was sssoooo exciting!! The foyer was huge – I had never seen anything like it before! We had a beautiful room on the ground floor looking out to sea and I couldn’t wait for the next day to explore!
The grounds of the Hotel were so impressive, in total there were four swimming pools (one including a water chute!!) tennis courts and crazy golf. One of the best bits of my holiday was getting involved with the Children’s Mini Club. My sister and I did so many fun things such as bowling, archery, a foam party and theme parties. Every day there was something new to do!
The food was delicious and there was a choice of restaurants. I could not believe I could have unlimited ice cream EVERY SINGLE DAY!! 🙂 Most evenings we went to the family cabaret bar – it was such good fun!
Overall, I’ve had such a great holiday and I can’t wait to tell my friends all about it when I go back to school – but until then, I really hope I can go back to visit Be Live Experience Playa la Arena again one day soon…
