A couple of months ago, we called all 3-11 year old budding fashion designers to put their creative skills to use.

To celebrate our 50th anniversary in April next year, we asked children to send us their ideas and sketches for Charlotte and George Bears’ new limited edition outfits. The designs came flooding in, and the inspirations were many – from golden anniversary, to party theme, to aviation or anything Monarch-related.

It was a tough job but our panel of experts eventually picked the winner and developed the design, which we are excited to share with you!

WINNER: Ellie Howarth, 10

Original design

Ellie said of her design: “I chose the ball gown and crown because they are the clothes you would wear to a big party and the 50th anniversary is a huge event. The colours on the gown  and crown (gold and purple) are the colours of Monarch so I used them.

The dinner suit I have designed is black with a gold trim and the collar is also gold. I chose to do plain black trousers because they look posh. The top hat, which says 50 years on it, was designed because it matches the other garments that I have designed, the bow tie is gold and on the middle it says 50 on it in purple to show that it is the 50th anniversary. “

Our judging panel loved Ellie’s design and transformed it into a more detailed one which will be in production soon, and we can’t wait for you all to see it!

Massive congratulations to Ellie, who will be receiving her very own limited edition Charlotte and George Bears, and also a big thanks to all the children who put their creativity onto paper and sent us dozens of amazing designs! Below are just a few of them.
